THT-19 : SPLENDID HILLS (GANGTOK 3N – LACHUNG 2N - DARJEELING 3N)
Day 01: NJP Rly Stn / IXB Airport – Gangtok (About 125 kms / 4 hrs)
Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP station / IXB airport & transfer to Gangtok – “The Capital City of Sikkim”. On arrival check-in to your hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay will be at Gangtok.
Day 02: Gangtok (Trip to Tsomgo Lake + Baba Mandir)
Start for a half day excursion trip of Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) & Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial (13200 ft) 52 kms from Gangtok city. Tsomgo Lake freezes completely during the winter and is much revered by the locals. Overnight stay will be at Gangtok.
Day 03: Gangtok – Lachung (About 117 kms / 6 hrs)
After breakfast pick up at 09:00 A.M. from hotel at Gangtok & drive to Lachung (altitude 8610 ft). Enroute visit Singhik View point, Seven Sisters Water Fall, (Lunch at Namak), Naga Water Fall, (Tea break at Chungthang). Arrive Lachung in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Lachung.
Day 04: Lachung –Yumthang Excursion (24 Km. & 11,800 ft)
Early Morning drive 24 km to Yumthang-valley (known as Valley of Flowers), Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the Yaks & winter playgrounds of Yetis. On the way back visit Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Back to resort for lunch. Spent afternoon interacting with the local people and their day-to-day activities and lifestyle. Overnight stay will be at Lachung.
Day 05: Lachung- Gangtok (About 117kms/6 hrs)
After breakfast (at 8.00 am,) take the transfer to Gangtok Enroute witness the Beautification of the wonderful Bheema & Twin Falls. On arrival check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay will be at Gangtok.
Day 06: Gangtok sight seeing - Darjeeling
This morning start for half day city tour of Gangtok covering Rumtek Monastery, Botanical Garden, Dro-Dul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology, Flower show and Handicraft Centre. Afternoon proceed to Darjeeling (7,100 ft.) is one of the most magnificent Hill Resorts in the World. On arrival check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay will be at Darjeeling.
Day 07: Darjeeling (Local sight seeing)
Early Morning (at 0400 am) drive to Tiger hill to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzonga (28,208 ft. Worlds third highest peak), on your way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop. After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-help Centre (closed on Sunday), Tea Garden (outer view), and Japanese Temple. Evening free (walking tour of mall - suggested). Overnight stay will be at Darjeeling.
Day 08: Darjeeling - Mirik Excursion
After breakfast excursion trip to Mirik Lake an excellent scenic spot, nestled in forested hills at an altitude of 5800 ft., it is famous for its man-made Sumendu Lake, Orange Orchards, Cardamom plantations and Tea Estates - enhance the Surroundings here. Evening return to the hotel. Overnight stay will be at Darjeeling.
Day 09: Darjeeling – NJP Rly station/ IXB airport (100 kms / 3 hrs)
Morning free for packing & personal activities. Check out from hotel in time and take the departure transfer to NJP railway station / IXB airport for your onward journey.
